Anti-Aging Therapies

There is no proven way to delay the human aging process. That said, there are a wide range of therapies that, when done properly, can diminish the effects of aging.

Bio-identical Hormone Therapies

The levels of many hormones go down with age. Many times optimization of your natural hormones can dramatically improve your quality of life, which can mean an increase in vibrancy, tissue elasticity (glow!), mood improvement, better energy, and even a better sexual experience! We can measure your natural hormone levels and then optimize those levels, either through herbal medications or natural bio-identical hormone therapy (BHRT).

Medical Ozone therapy

Medical Ozone (MAH – a type of ozone therapy) is useful in the treatment of many ailments affecting the immune and cardiovascular systems as well as many other aspects of the body. Over a million treatments have been used in Europe over the past several decades and demonstrated to be extremely safe.

Benefits of MAH (IV Ozone):

  • Stimulates the production of white blood cells – providing powerful immune system stimulation
  • Increases levels of Interferon, which kills off viral levels
  • Adds to the production of Tumor necrosis Factor, which assists in the destruction of cancer cells (note: however, this is not a solo therapy for cancer)
  • Kills bacteria, fungi, mold, and viruses
  • Makes red blood cells more elastic and flexible, improving cardiovascular function
  • Improves mitochondrial function and efficiency, resulting in greater energy, stamina and metabolism

This therapy has been proven useful in treating refractory infections due to chronic Lyme disease, chronic mold and fungal infections, and chronic viral infections. It has powerfull effects on wound healing and healing of injured tissues. It has anti-inflammatory effects as well. It has general powerful healing effects that make it worth considering as an anti-aging therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is MAHT painful? The IV catheters are placed with a tiny local anesthetic and hence hurts no more than having your blood drawn.
Is there any chance for my blood to clot in or outside my body? The patient is given a small dose of heparin and the blood that is drawn is also mixed with a small amount of heparin enough to keep the blood from clotting.
How often will I need the treatment? Depending on the severity and type of clinical problem, the treatments are administered 1 to 3 times a week. A typical course of treatment may be 6 weekly or biweekly treatments.

Joint Injections/Prolozone

Prolozone® is the trademarked name of a homeopathic/oxygen-ozone injection technique developed and pioneered by Dr. Frank Shallenberger. It is excellent for all forms of musculo-skeletal and joint pain, including chronic neck and back pain, rotator cuff injuries, degenerative and arthritic hips and knees, degenerated discs, and shoulder and elbow pain. In using this treatment, 75% of chronic pain sufferers will become pain free.

Prolozone is a connective tissue injection therapy of collagen producing substances and ozone gas which can reconstruct damaged or weakened connective tissue in and around joints. These substances are injected into the damaged connective tissue to rebuild the damaged areas. By repairing the connective tissue this is all that is needed to permanently reverse chronic pain.

Ligaments are the structural “rubber bands” that hold bones to bones in joints – acting like the body’s shock absorbers. Ligaments can become weak or injured and may not heal back to their original strength or endurance. They may not tighten to their original length once injured. For athletes or those just getting older, there is some gradual and natural degeneration of the moving parts of the body due to ongoing recurrent mechanical stress, and failure of tissues to repair. When this occurs the ligaments, tendons, and cartilage become dehydrated and weaker. The result is laxity as well as more abnormal mechanical stress and shearing forces on the joint. Abnormal shearing forces and torsion cause more joint dysfunction. This leads to a progressive separation of the ligaments from the superficial covering on the bone called the periosteum. This pulling on the periosteum creates a space, which the body fills in with new bone. These new parts of bone are called osteophytes. They are the premier signs of degenerative arthritis in & around the joint. Osteophytes and joint laxity result in a reduced range of motion, which causes strain on surrounding muscles which then become either over or under worked leading to more dysfunction & pain.

Prolozone treatments repair and tighten the lax structures along with partially torn connective tissue and ligaments. This treatment will halt the chronic pain/inflammation cycle. It allows for better circulation and increased blood flow, carrying nutrition and hydration of the damaged tissues. Overall, Prolozone creates a healing environment to develop within the joint, resulting in an increased range of motion and decreased pain.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Injections

Platelet activation plays a key role in the process of wound and soft tissue healing. The use of platelet rich plasma (PRP), a portion of the patient’s own blood having a platelet concentration above baseline, to promote healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints, can be applied to various musculoskeletal problems. PRP is also thought to have some natural stem cell activity, and may be one of the contributors to tissue regeneration.
